The Mexican Fan Palm is a tall, slender palm tree with a tapering trunk and bright green leaves. Its broad, fan-shaped leaves measure 3-4 feet across and form a crown at the top of the trunk, creating a canopy up to 12’ across. This fast-growing palm can easily reach 60 to 100 feet tall. Easy to maintain, Mexican Fan Palms are drought and salt tolerant with low watering needs once established. It is generally recommended to remove the dead leaves that hang down along the stem, about once a year. The elevated tops of these palms are a favorite roosting spot for owls, bats, and other wildlife. Elegant lined along driveways, streets, or in groups, landscapers use this tree to add height and coastal appeal to landscape settings. Mexican Fan Palms are grown at Creekside Nursery in 3, 15, and 30 gallon containers.
