Blue Rough Leaf Agave

Blue Rough Leaf Agave is a large succulent with thick, gray-green leaves.  The bluish gray cast of the leaves is offset by long, dark brown spines along the edges and tip.  This agave grows in a rosette style to about 3-5 feet tall and wide.  When the plant reaches maturity at 10-25 years of age, it will send up a yellow flower stalk nearly 20 feet in the air.  After flowering, the main part of the plant will die, while offshoots that have grown from the base will begin to flourish.  Best suited for full sun and well drained soil.  Use Blue Rough Leaf agave as an accent to add beautiful color and unique texture to the landscape.  Excellent for use as a specimen in xeriscaping and rock gardens.  Creekside Nursery grows Blue Rough Leaf Agave in 5, 15, and 30 gallon containers.
