White African Iris
Also known as Butterfly Iris, this variety is simple to maintain and fits into virtually any garden. Tall evergreen leaves are topped with an array of a white, yellow and purple bloom from spring through summer. The blooms only last a day, but new ones replace them throughout the season. White African Iris can tolerate heat, drought and neglect once established. They thrive in fertile, well-drained soils, and are perfect for planting beside water features. Sold in both one and three-gallon sizes here at Creekside Nursery, plant them in sun to partial shade in Zones 8-11. It is advisable to divide large clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring and to remove old bloom stalks to encourage new growth.
