Coleus is ideal for anyone who wants color in a hurry, whether in the garden, patio or house. There is no need to wait for the bloom on this plant because the color is in the beautiful, showy foliage. Coleus colors can range from red, green, purple or violet. It is a versatile and a vigorous plant that can be grown year round. It adjusts beautifully to life in pots, planters, flower beds or borders. The 'Kong' varieties are great for shady areas. Many growers will often pinch the non-showy blooms off to redirect the plants energy to the attractive foliage.

Euphorbia is a small annual that works as a low maintenance groundcover in the landscape. It has unique blooms that are made up of small flowers that are surrounded by colorful bracts. Euphorbia has cultural practices that are very similar to that of a cacti or a succulent. It requires little care, water and food. It also does not require much space, making this plant ideal for the landscape and for the home!

This holiday season, Creekside has a beautiful plant to help bring you some cheer, the poinsettia! Known as the Christmas plant, the poinsettia is native to Mexico and Central America. It was first introduced to the United States back in the early 1800s by Joel Robert Poinsett, who was the United States Ambassador to Mexico. The common name we are all familiar with is named after him.

The Chile Pequin Pepper is an attractive annual hot pepper. At maturity, it can get to be between two and four feet tall. It has white flowers and little red peppers that are extremely hot. The Chile Pequin is about ten times hotter than a jalapeno pepper, hitting approximately 40,000 to 60,000 units on the scoville scale! The Chile Pequin has low water requirements and is very heat tolerant. It is easy to grow and is an excellent xeriscaping plant.

Creekside Nursery has 12 varieties of Chrysanthemums, also known as Mums, which are all currently green and starting to crack color. This sun loving plant needs regular watering. Garden Mums are most commonly grown in containers, but they can grow in a wide range of soils. The flower heads can vary, but most have a similar appearance to a pompom or a daisy. Pair Mums with Sedums, Asters, or Miscanthus.
