Golden Moneywort Lysimachia

Lysimachia Moneywort or “creeping Jenny”, is a low growing, creeping groundcover that forms a leafy carpet no more than four inches tall. It is a fast spreader as it roots where the leaf nodes touch the ground. It thrives in damp soils and will often choke out weeds and other groundcovers. This cultivar features rounded slightly ruffled light green leaves. In early summer it will bloom bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers. Lysimachia Golden Moneywort is great for a low maintenance groundcover along streams or ponds and is beautiful when they spill over stone walls or fences.

Titanota Agave

Native to the limestone cliffs of Oaxaca, Mexico, Titanota Agave is a medium sized robust looking agave. It has ghostly white colored leaves arranged in a wide, open crown rosette of few leaves. The leaves can reach up to 50 cm long and 12 cm wide. Titanota is quite cold hardy especially in dry climates. However, it would be best to avoid exposure to extreme freezing temperatures for an extended amount of time. Titanota is very heat tolerant as well. These striking plants are wonderful when used to provide year round foliage color, as a patio plant. It is also a great plant for rock gardens. Here at Creekside, we currently have Titanota Agave available for sale in a 5 gallon size!

Dyckia

Native to South America, this unique and interesting plant was introduced in Europe in the 19th century. It is named after Prince Von Salm-Dyck, who was an early expert on succulents. However, Dyckias are not true succulents because they do not store their water internally like true succulents. They respond to stress by simply going dormant. This means that they are extremely drought tolerant. They are also one of the most cold hardy of the bromeliad genera. Dyckias have stiff pointy leaves with spiny margins, and typically have small compact flowers. They are great for rock or cactus gardens and are attractive in contemporary garden designs as they display a plethora of beautiful colors.
