Pink Muhly Grass

This easy-to-grow, native ornamental grass provides gorgeous late-season color! Rose-mauve flower plumes provide an airy effect to the landscape beginning late summer. Plant en masse, in a patio container or place between shrubs in the landscape. This rugged perennial is deer resistant, thrives in nearly any soil, and tolerates heat, humidity and even drought conditions!

Dutchman's Pipe

This high-growing vine climbs by twisting its trunk around a sturdy support. The blooms of the Dutchman's Pipe have a greenish yellow stem and end with a purple bowl. Flowers on this vigorous growing vine appear in late spring early summer. Fast growth makes this well suited as a cover for arbors trellises, pillars and posts. Given the proper structure to cling to plants, the Dutchman's Pipe can easily grow to a height of 30′ to 40′ feet. The clinging vines grow quickly, producing broad leaves that create a dense cover. The heart-shaped leaves can reach up to 12-inches. The leaves tend to shed in the winter and come back in the spring. By the early summer, you should have a dense, lush wall of leaves.

Blue Sentry Yucca

This is an evergreen Yucca with a rosette of unusual blue-green leaves and tall spikes of creamy white, bell-shaped summer flowers. Performs best in full sun and is hardy in Zones 5a – 9b. Requires well drained soil and once established, can survive some drought conditions. Blue Sentry Yucca stands out in a xeriscape type setting or can be planted in large containers. Grows slowly with a mature size of 2-3’H X 2-3’S. While this plant does not have a pronounced spine tip, it is best not to plant in near close pathways or where children or pets may play. Black Ripple Colocasia

Commonly referred to as a kind of Elephant Ear, this particular beauty stands out on its own with its iridescent puckered leaves of purplish black. Sitting atop multiple dark burgundy red stems, the leaves unfurl from brownish backs to reveal their inner glossy foliage. Considered a dwarf variety, they can grow 3-4’ H x 3-4’ W and they prefer medium wet, but not soggy soil. However, they have been known to do well in pond edges and around water features.

Sandankwa Viburnum

This popular, dense evergreen shrub with leathery dark green leaves is fast growing and can grow up to 6-10 ft tall and 3-6 ft wide. Makes a great planting on 3 or 4 ft centers for a woodland hedge effect, and can be grouped with contrasting textures and perennials to add visual interest! Sandankwa Viburnum can also be used as a screen to hide those pesky unwanted views! In early spring, clusters of light pink tubular flowers will appear followed by red berries that darken to black.
