Silver Falls Dichondra

Silver Falls Dichondra, also known as Silver Ponyfoot, is a trailing annual that has a beautiful, ruffled, fan-shaped silver-green foliage. Works great as a ground-cover, cascading over retaining walls or out of hanging baskets or mixed containers. The silver-gray foliage has a metallic appearance in the sun. Dichondra is a native Texas plant and is considered deer and pest resistant. It is also heat and drought tolerant and is commonly used in xeriscapes.

Golden Globes Lysimachia

Lysimachia Procumbens, commonly called Golden Globes, is a prostrate, mat-forming herbaceous perennial that grows to only 3-6” tall but spreads in the garden by creeping stems to 12” wide or more to form a dense medium green ground cover accented from late spring to mid-summer by showy cup-shaped bright yellow flowers. Plants will spread by creeping stems which root at the nodes to form an attractive ground cover, but are not considered to be invasive. Plants will flower in the first year from seed and therefore may be grown as annuals.

Splendida Agave

The Splendida variety of agave has dark green leaves marked with a bright, yellowish-green stripe down the center of each leaf. The leaf margins are lined with stout spines. When mature, this plant can produce up to a 12' tall flower stalk with spidery, fragrant flowers after which it will die off. However, like most agaves, this variety will form offshoots or “pups” around the base of the parent plant as it ages that can be transplanted to new containers or into the ground. Heat and drought tolerant, it performs best in well-drained soil with full sun exposure and little water needs. Sold here at Creekside Nursery in 2 and 7 gallon containers.

Rojo Sumatrana Banana

The Rojo Sumatrana Banana is a variety of the wild banana native to Sumatra, Indonesia. The blood banana is an ornamental plant named for the dark red patches on its leaves, though its small-seeded fruits are also edible. It grows 8 to 10 feet tall in the wild, but is well-adapted to container growing and can be maintained at 3' to 5'. It grows best in full or partial sun and is hardy in zones 8 - 11. Grown here at Creekside Nursery in a 3g container.
