Bougainvilleas

This heat loving flowering shrub boasts beautiful bracts (colored leaves) atop upright vining branches. These flowering machines will bloom year-round in warm climates. In a climate where the winters are cool, they’ll bloom for 9-10 months. The tiny white centers are actually the flowers and the bracts are what give us those big shows of color. Bougainvilleas put out a big explosion of color, drop their bracts and then flower again. Makes for a wonderful accent plant as its rapid growth makes this an excellent selection as a cover for arbors, trellises, and fences. Prefers dry well drained soil for best flower production.

Gigantea Farfugium

Commonly known as a Leopard Plant this perennial has large glossy heart-shaped leaves that resemble lily pads. They can reach a mature height of 3-4 feet and spread up to 2-3 feet wide. Beautiful yellow daisy-like flowers rise above the leaves on multi-branched stems from late summer thru fall and even winter in more temperate climates. They grow best in Zones 7-10 when planted in partial to full shade and require moist, but well-drained soil. Plant in large movable containers in cooler zones or in shady beds in warmer zones. The tops will die back when temperatures drop below 20 degrees, but sprout back when spring temperatures stabilize.

Dianthus Telstar Mix

Long known for its exceptional outdoor performance, Telstar Mix blooms early in the pack, then continues to bloom in the garden throughout the majority of the summer and well up through frost. This variety makes a spectacular display of color in the spring and summer garden in borders, mass plantings and as a seasonal ground cover!

Artemisia 'Powis Castle'

Also known as 'Wormwood' this durable perennial has silvery-gray foliage and is evergreen in all but the coldest of climates. This low shrub grows 3 feet tall by at least twice as wide with a naturally mounding form. It has finely divided foliage that is pleasantly aromatic and held in fairly flat sprays. Typically has a light bloom of small yellow flowers that are not conspicuous in Summer and into Fall. Plant in full sun or part shade in a well-drained soil with moderate, occasional to infrequent watering.
