Star Jasmine

Also called Confederate Jasmine, this beautiful vine can be trained to cover arbors, trellises or fence lines or trail along as a groundcover. Considered evergreen in Zones 8-11, but can also be grown as a spilling container plant that can be moved to a protected area or brought inside when temperatures drop in cooler areas. The delicate and sweetly fragranced star-shaped white flowers stand out well against the glossy green twining leaves. Available here at Creekside Nursery in staked 1 and 5 gallon pots.

Marigolds!

The Taishan Marigolds feature bold orange, gold, and yellow ball-shaped flowers at the ends of the stems from early summer to mid fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting! The fragrant ferny leaves remain dark green in color throughout the season. These Marigolds will grow to be about 12 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 10 inches. When used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 8 inches apart. Its foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground. This fast-growing annual will normally live for one full growing season, needing replacement the following year. This plant does best in full sun to partial shade.

Ajuga 'Catlin's Giant'

Easily grown in average to medium well drained soil, in full sun or part shade. This low growing plant will grow into an attractive mat like ground cover. With its shiny bronze-green leaves and blue flowers this plant will add interest to any flower bed or garden area! Deer and rabbit resistant and low maintenance, this ajuga will work well in any landscape. Crown rot can be a problem, particularly in the humid conditions of the deep South and in heavy soils. Avoid planting in wet, heavy soils, provide good air circulation and divide when clumps become overcrowded. Also avoid planting near perennial beds or lawns where its spreading nature could pose removal problems.

Apples, Peaches, and Pears!

It's Springtime at Creekside and several of our apple, peach and pear trees are beginning to bloom!  The Mid Pride Peach produces dessert quality, freestone fruit and is a heavy bearer with good disease resistance. The Orient Pear bears yellow fruit and has a highly ornamental value with loads of showy white blooms in Spring. The Anna Apple is a semi-dwarf growing tree with a heavy production of large sized sweet fruit. The flavorful yellow fruit with a heavy red blush ripens in mid-summer.
