Horsetail (Equisetum hyemale), also called rough horsetail or scouring rush, is a non-flowering evergreen perennial. It has vertical green stems with horizontal bands, similar to bamboo, but the stems are skinny, like tall grass, and it reproduces through spores (not seed), like ferns. However, horsetail is not related to bamboo or grass or ferns. Horsetail grows in wet conditions and can even grow in standing water. For this reason, it is commonly used to decorate water gardens or swampy areas where few other plants can survive. It's also commonly grown as an accent along borders or in large patio pots, similarly to ornamental grasses. Sold here at Creekside in a 1 and 3 gallon container.

Fig Ivy is a creeping perennial vine that adheres to surfaces by way of aerial roots along the spreading stems. The leaves are heart-shaped and bright green when young, maturing to dark green. It can have many shades of green on the same plant. Climbs quickly and can grow up to 25’ tall with a 3+’ spread per plant. Trim back old growth to promote new growth. Great for covering a brick or concrete wall, an arbor, a trellis or fences. Also can be used on topiary wiring to create shapes and designs. Considered an evergreen in protected areas and thrives in Zones 9-11.

Easily grown in average to medium well drained soil, in full sun or part shade. This low growing plant will grow into an attractive mat like ground cover. With its shiny bronze-green leaves and blue flowers this plant will add interest to any flower bed or garden area! Deer and rabbit resistant and low maintenance, this Ajuga will work well in any landscape. Crown rot can be a problem, particularly in the humid conditions of the deep South and in heavy soils. Avoid planting in wet, heavy soils, provide good air circulation and divide when clumps become overcrowded. Also avoid planting near perennial beds or lawns where its spreading nature could pose removal problems.

Like most other crotons, ‘Mamey’ is easy to take care of and features a display of bright red, yellow, brown, and green colors. Its leaves are large, thick and shiny. It can be grown as an indoor houseplant or outdoor decorative shrub. If you live in a colder climate, make sure you bring the plant indoors for the winter! The croton "Petra" is an evergreen shrub-like plant that is boldly marked with bright yellow, orange, red, and even black outlines on multi-colored leaves. They prefer full to partial sun and need bright lighting to produce their boldest colors. It prefers hot, humid weather and grows well outdoors only in Zones 9B-11. Crotons planted outdoors can reach a height of 7-10 feet.

Performs best in Zones 8-10 with watering as needed to keep the soil moist. Has a mature growth habit of 4-6’ tall and 6-8’ wide. Works well beside pools and water features. Also makes a great container plant where growth can be more contained.
