'Arbequina' Olive
Published October 02, 2024
‘Arbequina’ olives are attractive, hardy, evergreen trees that are popular for landscape and fruit production. Its narrow leaves are shiny, silvery-green, providing a nice color contrast in the landscape. Nondescript white blooms give way to small green fruit that turn from pink to shiny blackish-brown when they’ve ripened. Self-fruiting, ‘Arbequina’ olives are prized for abundant fruit that is aromatic and has a high oil content. These trees can withstand hot, dry conditions but also have greater cold hardiness than other olives. Excellent for use in the landscape as a specimen shrub or small tree. Grown at Creekside Nursery in 5 and 15 gallon containers.
