Princess Caroline Fountain Grass

Published June 01, 2018

This ornamental grass does not usually produce blooms or plumage, but the eye-catching colored leaves are what sells it. With its brilliant, green and maroon-purple foliage, this grass stands up well to heat and humidity. Prefers full to mostly sunny locations and once fully established can withstand periods without watering. Attention-grabbing in beds and stunning when planted en masse, this variety can grow 2-3' H and 3-4' W outdoors in Zones 8-10. But can also be planted in containers and brought indoors for overwintering in cooler areas. It is considered deer resistant and does not suffer issues with most insects or diseases.
