Clara Hawthorn

Published May 04, 2018

The Clara Hawthorn is a compact, mounding variety that displays light pink flower clusters that fade to white as they open and then form dark attractive berries that are a favorite of birds for fall and winter feeding. New growth starts off coppery red and morphs to a beautiful dark green. It easily maintains a natural round-type shape that tops out at 4-5’ tall by 4-5’ wide. A terrific flowering shrub for mass planting or low hedges that can handle bright sun to partial shade. Thrives well in Zones 7-10. Once established, they can tolerate some levels of drought and can handle poor soil conditions. Sold here at the Nursery in 3, 5 and 7 gallon sizes.
