Ivy, Hedera helix
Native to Europe, the ivy is an evergreen vine that is commonly found in gardens, on tree trunks and even on house walls. It can be trained into a variety of shapes, making this plant an excellent candidate for topiaries. Hardy from approximately Zones 4-9, the ivy has rapid growth habits. It can be used as ground covers, in planter boxes and in hanging baskets. Ivies grow well in sun or in shade.
