Quercus texana
Easily grown deciduous shade tree that is perfect for home landscapes. Develops a broad crown as it matures. Leaves are glossy dark green and turn orange-red in fall. Grows well in alkaline soils and is drought tolerant. Smaller than Shumard Red Oak.
