White Variegated Dianella

Also known as Flax Lily, this is an evergreen perennial with grass-like foliage that is streaked green and white. Tall spires of lavender-blue flowers are followed by blue berries. Drought tolerant, and prefers partial shade, but can handle a few daily hours of full sun, especially in the coastal areas. Performs best in rich, loamy soil and thrives in Zones 8-10. Good for borders, beautiful planted en masse and does great in containers, too. Sold here at Creekside Nursery in 1 and 3 gallon containers.

Ornamental Grasses

Here at Creekside Nursery, we have an abundance of beautiful ornamental grasses. Mature sizes range from dwarf to 6+ feet tall with beautiful green, variegated or colored blades and displaying plumage colors from white to purple to pinks and cream. Planted alone as a specimen item or en masse for a show-stopping display, these grasses are sure to call attention to your landscape. Most varieties do well in Zones 5-10 and can thrive in full sun and even under some drought conditions once established. Ask us about our Maiden varieties, our Muhly varieties and different Fountain grass varieties sold in 1 and 3 gallon containers!

Princess Caroline Fountain Grass

This ornamental grass does not usually produce blooms or plumage, but the eye-catching colored leaves are what sells it. With its brilliant, green and maroon-purple foliage, this grass stands up well to heat and humidity. Prefers full to mostly sunny locations and once fully established can withstand periods without watering. Attention-grabbing in beds and stunning when planted en masse, this variety can grow 2-3' H and 3-4' W outdoors in Zones 8-10. But can also be planted in containers and brought indoors for overwintering in cooler areas. It is considered deer resistant and does not suffer issues with most insects or diseases.

Fountain Grass Cassian

Graceful, flowing fountain grasses are versatile and beautiful plants for sunny, dry landscapes. This dwarf fountain grass works well in tight, small spaces, in borders or perennial gardens. It is similar in appearance to Pennisetum alopecuroides Hameln, but Cassian is a foot taller. ‘Cassian’ produces cream-pink tinted bottlebrush blooms in July that persist well into September. A palette of oranges and reds appears in October.

Juncus Blue Arrow

This grass is easy to grow in moist to wet soil, but is surprisingly drought tolerant. Plant in full sun to light shade for best results. This grass will add contrast and interest to any garden through out the year. With its stiff and upright form add to a container planting or use in a pond area. With a 36" height and a spread of 12" this plant will work almost anywhere in your garden or landscape.
