Gardenia ‘Buttons’

Gardenia ‘Buttons’ is a small evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves and intensely fragrant, semi-double, white flowers, sporting a golden yellow ‘button’ in the center. A sun lover, it is heat tolerant, but does best with morning sun and afternoon shade to help prevent leaf scorch in hotter climates. Mature growth habit is up to 24-30 in. tall and wide. The fragrant blooms are perfect for cut flower arrangements. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new blooming. New here at Creekside this year and offered in a 3 gallon container.

Awabuki Viburnum

The Awabuki Viburnum has large, leathery, medium to light green, glossy leaves and clusters of extremely fragrant, small white flowers in spring. Later, small red berries form and turn black when mature. Considered an evergreen, it is one of the fastest growing Viburnum varieties. Left to grow naturally, it can become a large shrub, but can easily be trimmed into a small tree form if desired. Best to prune in winter to promote even growth no matter which shape is preferred. Recommended to plant in full sun to light shade in Zones 7-10, this shrub can gain a mature height of 12-15’ with a 10-15’ spread and has high deer tolerance.. Sold here at Creekside Nursery in 3 and 7 gallon containers.

Mary Nell Holly

A superb evergreen with deep green and very shiny foliage. The lustrous leaves with serrated edges maintain their color year-round. This holly has a natural pyramidal form making it handsome enough to be a specimen tree. The Mary Nell Holly is also a great plant to use for privacy or as a wind barrier, since this evergreen grows wide as well as tall. Mature size can reach to 10-12’ tall by 4-6’ wide. Once established this tree is amazingly drought resistant. Can handle full sun to part shade and performs best in Zones 6-9. Numerous bright red berries form in late summer and persist through winter which are attractive to birds and wildlife.

Coppertone Loquat

This evergreen shrub offers coppery colored foliage on the new growth. Spicy scented, fragrant, pink flowers appear in late summer and are followed by a yellow fruit in winter or early spring. Plant as a focal point in the landscape or makes a good screen when planted in rows due to its dense canopy. Fruit and most desirable bush form come from planting in full sun although Loquats can tolerate partial shade and a variety of well-drained soils. Grown here at Creekside Nursery in 5 and 15 gallon containers.
