Color Guard Yucca

The 'Color Guard' Yucca is a broadleaf evergreen that is cold hardy from zones 4-10. It has full sun requirements and is a low maintenance plant. It is native to South Carolina all the way down to Florida and is a year round interest plant. It has a variegated foliage color that creates a unique accent in the landscape. San Pedro Cactus

The San Pedro Cactus is a fast-growing columnar cactus that is native to the Andes Mountains. It can get to be between 15 and 20 feet tall at maturity. This stunning cactus has long, bright green stems that are up to 6 inches thick and have 5-10 ribs that bear spines up to 2 inches long. The San Pedro Cactus looks great as a center piece for any cactus or rock garden.

Purple Leaf Prickly Pear

Purple Prickly Pear is native to the Southwest regions of North America. Being a desert type plant, they grow well in hot arid environments and are relatively cold hardy. It requires little water once established and is a low maintenance plant. In the spring, it grows yellow flowers with red centers that produce purple fruit. The large leaf pads develop a purple tinge and are covered with large tan spines.

Titanota Agave

Native to the limestone cliffs of Oaxaca, Mexico, Titanota Agave is a medium sized robust looking agave. It has ghostly white colored leaves arranged in a wide, open crown rosette of few leaves. The leaves can reach up to 50 cm long and 12 cm wide. Titanota is quite cold hardy especially in dry climates. However, it would be best to avoid exposure to extreme freezing temperatures for an extended amount of time. Titanota is very heat tolerant as well. These striking plants are wonderful when used to provide year round foliage color, as a patio plant. It is also a great plant for rock gardens.
