Summerwine Wisteria

Blooming vines are a great way to jazz up a trellis, fence, or arbor while adding color and fragrance to your landscape.  This woody twining vine fits that bill perfectly.  Its evergreen leaves are a leathery dark green.  In summer, reddish-purple, pea-like flowers bloom in large clusters.  The blooms are highly fragrant and the plant itself is not as invasive as the more common lavender Wisteria.   Deadheading (removing spent flowers) can encourage your vine to keep blooming throughout the warm weather season.
